Chartering a private boat is the way to do the USVI on your own terms — your group, your itinerary, your schedule. Options run from a full-day private sail to multi-day luxury yacht charters. Here's the range.

What's included on a private charter?
It varies by operator, but a private charter generally means the whole boat for your group with a captain (and often crew) for a set number of hours. Food, drinks, snorkel gear, and fuel or destination fees may or may not be included — confirm exactly what's covered with each operator when you book.
How many people fit on a private charter?
Most of the full-day private boats here take up to 12 guests. Multi-day and luxury yacht charters vary by vessel, so check the capacity for the specific boat before booking.
Can we do a custom itinerary or an overnight trip?
Yes — that's the point of chartering privately. Full-day charters set their own route for the day, and some can add a British Virgin Islands leg if everyone has a passport. Multi-day and term charters are built around overnight trips. Work out the plan with the operator when you book.
How far ahead should I book?
Private charters are limited and fill up, especially in peak season (December–April) and around holidays. Book as early as you can once your dates are set.
What's the difference between a full-day and a multi-day charter?
A full-day charter is a single day on the water, typically 6–8 hours. A multi-day or term charter runs several days, usually with overnights aboard, and is priced by the length of the trip.
